-Personal Qualities, Work Habits and Attitudes

I like to maintain a positive outlook on my life, and most aspects of my life reflect that positivity. It has been heavily influenced by ACLC. This school’s culture has facilitated the growth of positive attitude. I am very happy with the person that I have become and am proud of myself. Over the years, the copious open periods I have had at school have encouraged me to hone my time management skills and empowered me to motivate myself to complete projects and assignmentsin a timely manner. This free time in addition to projects we have had has fostered my success in social settings, and I work hard to stay true to my values and avoid hypocrisy. Obviously, I am not without fault and can be the worst of any of these qualities, but I think that there is always room for improvement and I make those improvements whenever I can

-New Basics

My time spent here at Aclc has helped me to use my basic skills in my everyday school life. I’ve finished all academic requirements to graduate. My English has improved over the years my spelling and grammar have improved wonderfully here and my communication skills have drastically changed here. This is the first school I ever had any real challenge in projects like posters and powerpoints. It's always been easy for me to stand up in front of crowds and give presentations but I'd never been proud of the work I was presenting. This school has taught me to put in more effort into my work and, in turn I can have a better and more confident presentation.  I just see it as a challenge I can meet. I know these skills will prove useful and grow when I use them in college.

-Thinking and Reasoning Skills

One of the most important qualities that makes ACLC stand out is its emphasis on taking control over one’s education. During my four years here, I’ve become metacognitive to understand how I learn. As a learner, I’ve had the freedom to choose how to best understand the material. Knowing how I operate and what resonates with me has helped me with multiple projects. One example is my senior project of rebuilding the senior store, or mastication station as it's lovingly known. I knew from past school projects how to prioritize the details for the event and what was feasible. I had full creative power to set a new standard of the store for the years to come. Because I knew how to handle projects involving other people, deadlines, and creative thinking, I will be able to create a full and wonderful senior store to improve our profits and working spaces.

-Interpersonal and Collaborative Ability

At first I hated group projects. It was always an excuse for someone, admittedly me sometimes, to slack off and do nothing while a couple or one of the other group members did everything

-Technology

Learners are practically required to know how to use technology well in order to find success. ACLC is a school that centers on technology, learners using tech in many different ways and aspects. I myself am no exception, but fortunately for me, I already possessed some skill in tech use before enrolling at ACLC, so I had a bit of an advantage. Still, I will say that ACLC has helped improve and exercise my tech skills. Throughout my time at ACLC, I have done an increasing amount of work on the computer, to the point where in my junior year, I did virtually all of my work on a computer, typing up assignments and printing them out or emailing them directly to my facilitators. Like I’ve mentioned before, the tech at ACLC has a tendency to fail at the wrong times, so I’ve grown adept at diagnosing problems and making small workarounds to maximize efficiency, such as having multiple copies of a document in different places (flash drive, school computer, web storage) so that I always have access when (not if) something goes wrong. I’ve even had a few of my less technology-literate friends ask me for help with using the computers.
